Strong hinges for sleek kitchen design
The greater load capacity of the new Evisys guide hinge provides more freedom in kitchen design. After all, extra-high furniture doors for built-in refrigerators are now possible.

Strong hinges for a sleek kitchen design

What does a dream kitchen look like today? Sleek design. Minimal joints. Floor-to-ceiling kitchen cabinets. Furniture doors that get taller and wider immediately become heavier. That means hinges are needed with a greater load capacity. Hettich developed hardware with the guide hinge Evisys to provide this performance.

The kitchen trend that may well dominate 2025 is extra-high cabinet doors that reach from the floor to the ceiling. In other words, quite a bit higher than the cabinets we know so far. This means that the hinges that must support these doors must also become stronger. Hettich answers this quest with the innovative guide hinge Evisys. "Combine Evisys with Hettich hinges for fixed doors and a weight of up to 80 kg can be carried," echoes the hardware specialist. "The additional load capacity of as much as 10 kg is what Evisys takes care of."

The refrigerator also benefits

Hettich developed Evisys especially for extra-high furniture doors behind which built-in refrigerators with a fixed door connection are installed. Evisys is fitted at the top of the door and immediately also provides the necessary stability during the turning movement. At the same time, an attractive joint appearance is created for door widths up to 750 mm. "You can use Evisys, made of galvanized steel, on both the left and right side of the door," says the manufacturer. "It is suitable for cabinets with a side wall of 16, 18 or 19 mm thickness. Evisys is available with and without integrated damping. Those who choose a package with integrated damping also get a smart comfort upgrade right away. After all, the refrigerator door also benefits from the Evisys damping effect and therefore closes softer and quieter. These outstanding features thus allow the kitchen design to literally 'rise above itself'."

Man is still needed

Technological progress thunders on and on, and so we see the entry of AI in a lot of electrical devices. Artificial intelligence is the help many users need. The oven selects the ideal program for a particular dish, the refrigerator automatically generates a shopping list and so on. "But despite all the intelligence, it is still up to humans to open and close refrigerator doors," Hettich immediately adds. "Our hardware makes this very convenient, and top brands in the industry appreciate that. For example, Smeg uses our Quadro Compact pull-out program in its Dolomite range. For any size drawer, we have a soft-close solution with an unexpectedly high ease of operation."
