The kitchen and living room merge into one. It is therefore more than logical that one solution should also be worked out for the lighting. Of course, the functional character must remain where cooking takes place. But the same luminaires are given an additional task, namely to provide pleasant atmospheric light when not working in the kitchen. Hera is ready with an appropriate product portfolio to perform these tasks as required.

One fixture, two tasks

"The U-PAD F is a flat under-mount fixture that is actually made in such a way that it is barely if not noticeable in the kitchen," explains Michael Hoekstra of Hera. "After all, the intention is to mount this fixture under the wall cabinets in order to illuminate the worktop, with or without cooktop and sink, while preparing meals. The flexibility of the fixture also makes it possible to provide pleasant ambient lighting, with dimmed light of course, during, for example, a dinner party with friends."

Almost invisible

Turning the fixture on and off is done very simply by movement. So pressing a button is not necessary, extra convenient when you are working in the kitchen. Even dimming the light is done contactless thanks to the IR sensor. "A movement of the hand switches the fixture on and off, holding the hand longer in front of the sensor activates the stepless dimming function," explains Michael. The U-PAD F is black, still a trendy color in the
kitchen, and available in a 3000K or 4000K version.
