It is always inspiring to exchange thoughts with subject professionals at regular intervals about "The Consumer. What motivates him or her? What are the considerations for getting started in the kitchen? What do consumers pay attention to? Owner Rob van den Brink and Purchase Manager Elout Koning of WerkbladenGroothandel.nl as well as other employees speak to consumers daily in their two inspiration houses in Tiel and Veenendaal. "We notice that people actually know in advance what they like. But, consumers want to hear our confirmation that a kitchen worktop is really beautiful. And, they want to know why a worktop is right for them."
First about WerkbladenGroothandel.nl: for several years, the company has been supplying the largest collection of worktops of the highest quality at the best price to an increasing number of interior builders and kitchen specialty stores in the Netherlands and Belgium. Renowned brands such as Dekton, Marazzi, Diresco and Silestone can be admired extensively in the showrooms. In discussions with kitchen specialists and interior designers, the aim is always to give the best possible advice on materials, to carry out an extra check based on a cabinet drawing or to help measure a 'tricky' worktop with angled corners. Simply to reduce the margin of error. Rob and Elout therefore see the company as an expert sparring partner for the industry.
But a good conversation with consumers is now also an everyday occurrence. Both showrooms - or rather, the beautiful Inspiration Houses - in Tiel and Veenendaal are very well visited by consumers who are referred by the kitchen specialty stores as well as the interior builders. The reason? To get more inspiration and actually see the worktops that can be purchased in actual size and then make the final choice with their own kitchen specialist or interior builder.
Rob and Elout tell us, "We get a lot of questions from consumers visiting us about leaf length. And our answer is that almost always anything is possible. Whether it's a small kitchen or a space where the kitchen has become part of the living room. We further notice that consumers also often want to know what the difference is between ceramic and composite. They are also often looking for concrete information regarding the installation of the sink or faucets. And well, there too we can note that practically everything is possible."
While it is true that, on average, consumers are well-informed and perfectly prepared, there is always a search for some confirmation. "People often want to know whether we also like the worktop in front of the consumer in question. Of course, these are quite difficult questions to answer, because tastes differ. Somehow, however, the consumer needs this confirmation. Somehow we understand that, because left or right: it is and remains an investment. Yet practically every consumer manages to arrive at the right choice. The reason? We give good advice and with us one sees everything in full size so one knows what one is buying."
