With the takeover by the Swiss Franke Group in September 2024, a new era has begun for berbel Ablufttechnik GmbH. As a premium provider of ventilation technology, the company has since been focusing more strongly than ever on strategic tasks. Since January 2025, Gregory Oswald has been at the helm of the company as CEO.
In the first months of his leadership, the focus was on the successful integration within the Franke Group, the further development of the product portfolio and the already excellent corporate culture and team motivation at the Rheine location.
"The first months at berbel were marked by intense conversations, new impulses and an impressive team spirit.", said Gregory Oswald. "Together with our employees, we are looking to the future and doing everything we can to continue berbel's success story." The integration within the Franke Group offers new prospects and strengthens berbel's long-term position.
The acquisition by Franke took place during a challenging period. Declining sales and necessary structural adjustments had left their mark. However, integration into the internationally operating Group laid a solid foundation for overcoming this phase and exploiting new growth opportunities. Close cooperation throughout the Group promotes the exchange of expertise, the joint use of resources and the development of forward-looking solutions.
A central part of the product strategy is the further development of the Downline series. The cooktop extractors in this line combine high-quality materials, well thought-out operating concepts and the proven berbel principle to create powerful total solutions - supported by another berbel technology: the maintenance-free permalyt® filter system. The Downline series is a striking example of the brand's high quality standard and innovative capability.
The Rheine site remains the center for development, production and quality assurance. "For us, our commitment to the Rheine location and to uncompromising quality 'Made in Germany' is the basis for sustainable growth and long-term success. At the same time, we will make targeted use of synergies within the Franke Group.", emphasizes Gregory Oswald.
With new management, a clear strategic direction and the successful integration into the Franke Group, berbel is excellently positioned to continue to realize innovative ventilation solutions for the kitchen of tomorrow.
