Faster and more efficient production, without production errors

The manufacturing industry has undergone a tremendous evolution. This was also necessary to keep up with customer demands: higher quality, faster deliveries and lower prices. Even for kitchen manufacturers, custom cabinet makers, interior designers and joiners, it comes down to working more efficiently and avoiding errors at all times. Vlecad's software for creating CNC programs from a drawing and for fully automatic control of the production process can help them do this.

Lars Vliegen is the business manager of Vlecad, the software house founded by his father more than 30 years ago.

Jos Vliegen founded his company Vlecad 33 years ago with the intention of writing a CAM part from a CAD program, so that production in the solid processing industry could be controlled from a drawing. After the turn of the century, the development of completely in-house software solutions was started, so that now both the CAD and CAM parts are worked out in-house. This enables the specialist to respond quickly to customer queries. Together with a team of driven employees, son Lars Vliegen continues his father's life's work and wants to continue to grow nationally and internationally to guarantee every customer the best service. This is why the company invested, among other things, in a newly built office with large training rooms.

"Before I started developing software, I first gained the necessary experience on machines on the shop floor. As a result, I know the subject matter inside out and our software can be perfectly tailored to the problems of companies in controlling machines and preventing errors," indicates the current business manager. "Our software packages Korpus for the production of custom cabinets and AutoFIT for the optimization of the entire production process ultimately find their origin in the ever faster evolving industry. We offer kitchen manufacturers, custom cabinet makers and interior designers a total solution that simplifies and optimizes the production process.
Thus, companies are ready for today's challenges and those of tomorrow."

Troubleshooting

In contacts with management and operators of manufacturing companies, very often the same problems came up. In many cases, there is no one left to operate a machine when the operator, who wrote the variable programs, leaves. Furthermore, many firms have to recreate all the programs when they replace a machine with a system of a different brand. "If the CNC programs are created from a drawing, less knowledge is needed and even a temporary employee or trainee can operate the machine. In addition, our software is brand-independent, allowing control from Korpus to both machine X and machine Y," states Lars Vliegen. "We also found that the error rate was quite high. The project passed by several people, each of whom had their opinion on how to bring it to fruition. As a result, everyone worked in a different way, causing parts to be made incorrectly. Thanks to our software, no miscommunication is possible. By working out a drawing from Korpus, after which we get saw optimization, CNC programs and technical drawings, everyone is on the same wavelength."

The software shows where the bottleneck in a production is and allows the firm to seek targeted solutions to that problem.

Total automation

Vlecad also offers software for optimally controlling and monitoring a fully automated production process with sheet magazines, nesting machines, automatic labeling stations, edgebanders, and so on. "Especially companies where the workshop is already highly optimized are interested in such software. The part is scanned at every operation so one can track it, but also determine how much time it takes to process it, from sawing/nesting to finished product," Vliegen adds. "This allows companies to see where the bottleneck in their production is and simplify certain procedures or expand the machinery to solve the problem."
