Sustainability without limitations
Combining aesthetics, technology and sustainability seamlessly is anything but easy. Refrigeration and freezer specialist Liebherr has succeeded. At the upcoming Küchenmeile, where we meet Liebherr in the prestigious Architekturwerkstatt, the manufacturer is proud to showcase the award-winning French Door series and the ICBa 5123, the first fully-integratable fridge-freezer in energy class A.
During the Küchenmeile, it is a coming and going of interested kitchen professionals at the Architekturwerkstatt in Löhne. Liebherr is one of the visitor magnets. Every edition the refrigeration and freezer specialist manages to delight visitors with new showpieces. "This year, too, we are coming up with groundbreaking innovations in the field of refrigeration and freezing," indicates Bart Kraan of Liebherr. "Or how else can you describe the French Door series and the ICBa 5123, the first fully integrated fridge-freezer in energy efficiency class A?"
The new French Door refrigerator-freezer combination has not missed its mark. The international design world has fallen like a log for the innovative nature of these models that excel in both design and ease of use. They were even awarded both an iF Design Award 2025 and a Red Dot Design Award this year. With a flat front, recessed handles and high-quality finishes (SmartSteel, TerraSteel and BlackSteel), these appliances make a stylish statement in any modern kitchen. Practical technology also does its part. Just think of the FlexDoor system with individually opening doors, the generous opening angle of 115 degrees and the integrated Water & Ice Center that provides cold water, ice cubes or crushed ice. Inside the appliances we find the BioFresh Professional that keeps food fresh up to five times longer and a VarioTemp zone that can be set as a refrigerator or freezer as desired.
Sustainability. No one can ignore it anymore. Liebherr has long been developing technologies that drastically reduce energy consumption. New proof of the constant zeal in this story is provided by the ICBa 5123 Plus. "This is the first fully integrated fridge-freezer combination in the world to achieve the new highest energy label A according to current EU standards," said Crane. Energy consumption of just 105 kWh per year is the handsome result that Liebherr is proud to highlight. "Add to that the innovative technologies BioFresh and DuoCooling and you know that the appliance delivers top performance with minimal environmental impact," Kraan continued. "Thanks to DuoCooling, the cooling and freezing sections are controlled separately, which prevents odor transfer and prevents food from drying out. BioFresh, in turn, is the proven refrigeration technology that ensures that fresh products are kept longer, without loss of taste, vitamins or structure."
