Black is in, also in the design of kitchens. At Novy Netherlands, it is therefore not surprising that the range now includes several black range hoods: Vision, Flatline, Mood, Cloud, Pureline Frame, and Phantom, the latest gem. The manufacturer of extractor hoods, cooktops and associated lighting continues to invest heavily in innovation. For example, the standard black is being replaced by the new Mineral Black, which not only makes the hoods easier to maintain, but also takes the design to a higher level.
Today more than ever, an extractor hood is part of the high-quality finish of the kitchen. Novy's latest generations are therefore characterized by minimalist design combined with whisper-quiet, powerful and, above all, efficient operation.
"The ideas we generate in the market are translated by our R&D department into innovations or improvements to existing products. Since black is in, several range hoods were also introduced in that color in recent years," says Operations Manager Riet de Beer. "To improve the maintainability of our range hoods, we developed the new Mineral Black. With this new color, one sees almost no dust on the hood. Fingerprints are also less visible than before. When we were in the development process, we found that in this way the design was also raised to a higher level. Starting in April, the standard black for all of our range hoods will therefore be automatically converted to Mineral Black."
The same goes for the Novy Phantom, the innovative extractor for the kitchen island. It hangs in a striking transparent box with a length of 1300 mm, a width of 475 mm and a height of 332 mm. In addition to a highly efficient and above all quiet extraction system for odors, fumes and fats, the lighting fixture also catches the eye. This piece of design provides warm, atmospheric lighting in the kitchen and has functional, dimmable lighting above the cooktop.
"Architects and designers are given a choice of two versions. For example, the Novy Phantom can be hung on steel cables. All screws are concealed behind convenient cover plates," Reed explains. "With the frame version, however, we are responding to the increasing demand for an industrial look in modern kitchens. This metal frame work is fixed to the ceiling, but as a construction it allows for a slight rocking, so that unexpected shocks are absorbed easily and without damage."
This innovative solution is easily operated with the remote control, the built-in InTouch connection of a Novy cooktop or the Novy Connect App on smartphone or tablet. "With this tool, the user can turn the hood on and off, determine the extraction level, activate or deactivate the lighting as well as adjust the light heat (2700 - 4000 K) and intensity. The app also indicates the best time to clean the grease filter and whether the carbon filter needs to be replaced. Moreover, the tool takes one directly to the web shop, where one can order the required product," concludes Reed. "Furthermore, this low-noise Novy Phantom switches itself off automatically if no buttons have been touched for three hours. This prevents people from forgetting about their extractor - because they are sitting at the table enjoying the deliciously prepared dishes - and wasting energy."
