Area30 is the go-to meeting place for the kitchen industry

Fall is traditionally the time when the international kitchen industry heads to Germany, specifically to Löhne and the surrounding area. During the annual Küchenmeile, the area buzzes with the latest trends, technological innovations, and creative designs. For years, Area30 has been regarded as one of the venues where visitors can find everything they’re looking for. This year, the organizers are pulling out all the stops with surprising innovations, clever themes, and an even broader selection of brands.

For kitchen specialists, buyers, (interior) architects, and project developers, area30 has long since ceased to be merely a product show. It is the place where product lines are viewed, evaluated, and where investments are planned. The organizers are once again sending a strong signal, as no fewer than 180 exhibitors are ready to showcase their innovations and newly developed solutions. In addition to the familiar kitchen retail sector, this year’s trade show is also focusing more on the project market, ranging from single-family homes to (small) apartments and luxury residential projects. “One thing is certain: the demands on modern kitchen solutions are changing rapidly,” says Sylvia Rasek of trade show organizer Trendfairs. “Visitors will find all the relevant materials, appliances, and design inspiration at area30.”

New Energy on the Trading Floor

Trade show organizer Trendfairs isn’t sitting still and is making a strong commitment this year to optimizing the visitor experience. After all, area30 attracts thousands of visitors every year, and you have to pamper them. “The layout of the booths is more organized than ever, resulting in improved visitor flow and revamped networking zones that encourage meaningful conversations,” confirms Rasek. “Because so much is happening at once during the Küchenmeile—culminating in the many guided tours of neighboring kitchen manufacturers” showrooms—we’ve decided to keep the doors of area30 open longer on Tuesday, September 22: from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. We’re convinced that Long Tuesday will provide more time, more interaction, and a richer experience.”

Priorities by Topic

In terms of content, the organization is highlighting several themes. The integration of AI into kitchen design, advanced design software, and smart appliances is a must. Artificial intelligence makes daily life easier and more energy-efficient. Sustainability has been a key topic for several years now, and this year, too, ‘circular and sustainable’ is a dominant theme on the show floor. Environmentally friendly materials, recyclable countertops, and energy-efficient kitchen systems—it’s all on display. “The Innovation Area will once again serve as a platform for knowledge and inspiration, where leading speakers will share insights on market developments, customer communication, and the future of the kitchen industry and the specialty retail sector,” Rasek adds. “Be sure to visit the Outdoor Area as well. The line between indoors and outdoors is blurring, and we—along with several manufacturers—are responding to that trend.”

Visit permanent showrooms

Literally just across the street, cube30 is also well worth a visit. Cube30 is a showroom complex. Walden has had a permanent spot here for several years now, and the permanent showroom for the Austrian premium brand Team7 is brand new. Visitors don’t need to check in separately; with your area30 badge, you can simply walk right into cube30 to find inspiration in eco-friendly design and artisanal woodwork. It’s an additional must-see inspiration hub during the extensive Küchenmeile tour.

Ready for the future

Löhne is once again the center of the Küchenmeile this year, and visitors to area30 and cube30 will be able to confirm this once more. A dynamic week full of interesting connections proves that the combination of smart technology, an eye for indoor and outdoor living spaces, and the opportunity to visit permanent showrooms makes a visit more valuable than ever. “Anyone who wants to stay up to date on the direction the kitchen industry is taking—as well as the developments being introduced in the (near) future—knows exactly where to go,” concludes Rasek.
