Next year—in 2023—the company will celebrate its tenth anniversary. And its growth has been unprecedented. In just one decade, Veendam-based Duovorm has already achieved a prominent position in the market. Actually, that's not so surprising. Ambitious entrepreneurship and market expertise go hand in hand.
One of the two founders, Ferniand Vos, explains: “From day one, we set ourselves the goal of making our range as complete as possible. The market needs to know that we offer a comprehensive range of solutions in the field of furniture and interior fittings. In other words, we are more than just an online store.”
All of this seems to have been very successful, because Duovorm has also grown considerably in terms of staff numbers over the years. “Of course, we also keep a close eye on developments in the market,” says Ferniand. “On the one hand, we see that the amount of square footage people live in or can live in is becoming increasingly limited, which means they have to be more efficient in how they use that space. On the other hand, we also see that people are no longer satisfied with empty space in their own homes. Everyone—including (kitchen) designers, architects, and contractors—is looking for efficiency and cost-effective solutions.”
“Whether it's corner cabinets, shelves, drawer dividers, waste bins, connecting fittings, or handles... You name it. We can guarantee the everything-under-one-roof principle. We want to make it easier for kitchen builders. You can place project-based orders with us—we are happy to help you with that, of course—but you can also purchase individual hinges. I remember when we started in 2013, we said to each other that we wanted to become the total supplier for professionals. Well, I think we have already succeeded in doing that in 2022. More and more professionals are finding us and appreciating us.”
Ferniand and his partner proved at the end of last year that they are not standing still strategically either. “We acquired Ceramic Tools. This includes tile cutters, tile saws, and all the associated smaller tools for tiling. This has made us an even broader supplier and enables us to further realize our ambition to grow and strengthen our position in the market. But the basis remains the same: the professional should not be left empty-handed.”
And when Ferniand says ‘wide,’ he really means ‘wide.’ “Our range includes not only all the leading brands, but also some smaller, perhaps lesser-known brands. That's why I'm convinced that all kitchen professionals will find what they need here.”
