Light in the kitchen has fulfilled multiple purposes for a long time: targeted, functional light ensures safe working conditions in the kitchen - dynamic light colors and dimmable lighting create a relaxed atmosphere that can be adjusted depending on the situation and time of day. Yet in the kitchen industry, there was still no coherent and consistent lighting system that fully met all the diverse requirements. For more than two years, the designers and engineers of the family-owned companies Schüller and Häfele - specialists in intelligent hardware technology, electronic locking systems, lighting and network integration - worked on developing future-oriented solutions.
To meet all the diverse requirements, LumiQ offers an extensive spectrum of modern lighting solutions. In the lighting categories cabinet, workplace, shelf, panel system, grip rail, drawer and basket, plinth and uplighter, there is a choice of various new and updated lighting options that stand out with their technical properties and their respective lighting effect.
As the kitchen increasingly has an open layout that flows into the living room and dining room, light in the kitchen takes on an emotional, mood-enhancing function. Thus, kitchen light also functions as general lighting. LumiQ offers numerous new solutions for this, starting with innovative switch-on and switch-off sequences: light signals controlled via digital LED strips that provide a warm welcome in the kitchen. A new addition in the industry is the continuous handle strip lighting for dishwasher fronts that, even when the appliance is opened, continues to provide light.
In particular, the combination of linear and vertical lighting elements provides impressive and atmospheric lighting. Unique in the kitchen industry, vertical handle strips with a light compartment behind high built-in appliances can be elegantly illuminated. This offers real added value for holistic lighting planning. Intelligent optics ensure that the insides of baskets are perfectly and fully illuminated - for optimum visibility of the contents. These solutions are the result of the joint development and creation process of Schüller and Häfele, in which technological precision and high-quality design aspirations went hand in hand from the very beginning.
The LumiQ light planner offers clear added value for the retail sector. With the light planner, kitchen planners gain access to a powerful tool that allows for fast, individual and flexible planning of lighting solutions in the kitchen. Thanks to the seamless integration of the LumiQ light planner and the planning programs CARAT, KPS.MAX and Winner Flex, a seamless workflow and intelligent lighting planning are guaranteed with just a few mouse clicks - and immediately provided with a price indication. At the touch of a button, the appropriate lighting components for the respective kitchen are queried and sent to the kitchen planner as a suggestion within seconds. The whole thing is supported by a visualized 3D perspective.
Through an intuitive user interface, three clearly structured packages, each with different sizes, are available; as well as the Custom option for individual configurations. The update of the planning software with the LumiQ lighting planner will be made available with the new Sales Manual 2026.
The visual graphic representation of the kitchen in the planning program with the selected lighting components provides a clear added value for communication with private customers and gives an emotional impression of the effect of the planned lighting components.
Also, the LumiQ lighting planner ensures the consistent and complete planning of all necessary controls: inverters, control technology, extension cables and outlets are automatically adapted to the respective kitchen and displayed in the correct numbers.
Existing lighting solutions have been radically upgraded especially for LumiQ to optimize energy efficiency, service life and user-friendliness. Thanks to the conversion to 24V technology, all LumiQ light components are even more efficient and last even longer. Because all lamps can be infinitely dimmed and the light color can be set from warm white to neutral white (2700 - 5000 Kelvin), it is possible to precisely adjust the lighting mood - from functional lighting to mood lighting. Thanks to innovative lighting optics, the desired work surface is optimally illuminated. Intuitive and quick installation is guaranteed as much as simple lamp replacement within the framework of the Ökodesign directive.
Thanks to state-of-the-art technology, all components can be controlled via remote control, app or an optional wall switch. The system can also be integrated with Smart Home systems such as Alexa, KNX or Casambi, offering additional automation options. For maximum comfort and a cozy atmosphere, different lighting scenarios and routines can be set and stored for specific parts of the day or occasions.
