Kitchen Paradise is located along the A30

Who says September, says Küchenmeile A30. At least for kitchen professionals. All manufacturers close to the A30 motorway organize their open days at the same time. Convenient for visitors who thus only have to make the (far) trip once to discover everything, as far as possible.

In a not-so-wide perimeter around the A30 motorway, you imagine yourself in a true kitchen paradise. Those who make the trip know that when you see Nobilia on the horizon, you are almost where you need to be every year. All around the A30 are scattered kitchen manufacturers. And to make it easy for visitors, they organize their big open days at the same time. Anyone who wants to see them all is definitely running out of time. Especially if you want to schedule the additional events as well.

The success of the joint open days and the large influx of kitchen professionals also ensured that kitchen manufacturers and manufacturers of kitchen accessories wanted to be present on those days around the A30. Thus Area30, house4kitchen, KitchenCenter Löhne, Architekturwerkstatt came into being. And some manufacturers found their way to Gut Böckel, a handsomely restored estate in Rödinghausen.

Lechner introduced some new finishes in terms of worktops and splashbacks. Here the combination of a worktop in natural stone (Foggy Black) with a glass splashback (Into The Woods).

Area30 and Cube30

Area30 is an established venue in Löhne, Cube30 is just coming up. With only sixty meters between the entrance of both locations, a shared visit became very easy. Cube30 is a permanent showroom that today houses Austrian manufacturer Walden and German company Neue Alno. You can read more about this later in this file.

Area30, then again, is a temporary exhibition building. Under the slogan "Area30 design. kitchen. technics," the event, this year reaching its ninth edition, grew into what is sometimes called the largest temporary exhibition building in Europe. This year more than 130 exhibitors showed their new or recent developments. The number of visitors rose again and for the first time came very close to the magic limit of 15,000. The counter stopped at 14,817, representing an increase of no less than 13.3 percent. Visitors came from near (Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium) and far (Turkey, Ukraine), to even very far (China, Mexico, Vietnam, Iran, Australia, New Zealand). The appeal of established names (Grohe, Hansgrohe, Compusoft, Samsung, Quooker, BORA, Novy) and some well-known manufacturers participating for the first time (Allmilmö, Haier with a focus on built-in Candy Hoover) proved big enough for the visitors to make the move to Löhne.

Established values

German kitchen accessories manufacturer Naber was also traditionally present as an exhibitor. We found them at the venue they occupy each year. You can read more about their participation in Area30 later in this issue.

Also present at their well-known spot, manufacturer of kitchen worktops and splashbacks in numerous materials Lechner. In addition to a large number of novelties, the manufacturer is aiming to simplify kitchen planning. Don't worry, plan happy was the Lechner trade fair motto. With some clear measures, the manufacturer wants to ensure that the kitchen retailer has more time for the end customer: a switch to prices per square meter, a reduction in the number of item numbers and a revision of the price list.

Villeroy & Boch expands its Siluet sink table family, awarded with the German Innovation Award 2019, with two new offspring: the 50 S and the 60 S. These are immediately the first two items to be manufactured from the innovative material TitanCeram. This material offers the same material advantages of high-quality ceramic. The surface finish CeramicPlus also ensures hygiene and easy cleaning.

A large shared booth, with one side Küppersbusch and on the other side Teka, was also well attended. Three new appliances in the K-Series 7 from Küppersbusch: an oven with steamer, a compact oven with microwave and a fully automatic coffee machine. The uniform panel height, controls and handle height of the appliances in the series allow a symmetrical arrangement both horizontally and vertically. "The overall appearance is always harmonious," the booth echoes. "The many convenient functions and easy operation by a touch of the fingers add to this." At Teka much attention is paid to the SteakMaster, a built-in oven with a special program that allows steaks to be prepared perfectly. In addition, the SteakMaster has all the functions of a "normal" oven. Thanks to the SuperPowerfull function, the SteakMaster reaches a temperature of 700°C, allowing the steaks to be prepared as desired. Area30 received the world premiere.

Teka: "SteakMaster, for the perfect preparation of every steak."

Gut Böckel

Gut Böckel is also not to be missed on the list of visitors. The imposing estate has been an official part of the sites of the Küchenmeile A30 for about sixteen years now. Year after year, the number of "exhibitors" here expanded in direct proportion to the number of restored buildings. Where the imposing estate now stands, built from 1682, there used to be a moated castle, a fortified castle surrounded by a moat. About this castle we find mentions from 1350.

Today the entire complex has been thoroughly restored and numerous events take place throughout the year. Küchenmeile A30 is one of them, as is an annual Christmas market. Gut Böckel is also a popular venue for weddings.

Virtual reality

This year, no fewer than twenty exhibitors found Gut Böckel the ideal location to present themselves and their novelties and recent introductions to interested visitors. For example, they showed Carat er that the future of kitchen planning may well lie in virtual reality. Bart van Arkel of Carat: "For consumers who find it difficult to form a picture of what their kitchen will look like, our virtual reality module comes in handy. Kitchen dealers, thanks to VR glasses, give them the opportunity to step around the drawn kitchen, as it were." The virtual reality part attracted by far the most attention in the Carat building.

Last year celebrated Jetstone its 25th anniversary and the Dutch worktop manufacturer was present for the first time at the Gut Böckel estate. "The beautifully restored buildings lend themselves perfectly to a beautiful presentation," it sounds. "We were inspired by the book Form Follows Food by researcher and trend forecaster Lidewij Edelkoort. The book is an initiative of composite manufacturer Caesarstone and beautifully shows how colors and textures from food and nature are reflected in current trends for kitchen countertops. Together with architect Perry Hanssen, we translated elements from the book into a presentation called Hexagon: Inspired by nature in which the new colors Jet Grey, Primordia, Bromo and Crete play a prominent role." Jetstone also showed in preview a number of materials that will enter the collection in early 2020.

Since 2011, Blank during the Küchenmeile to Gut Böckel. The manufacturer presented there a new sink range in stainless steel (Blanco Classimo) as well as a range of sinks in Silgranit with the new concrete finish. Blanco: "Stainless steel is the classic material used for sinks. It finds its way into every type of kitchen and is also very durable. With the Classimo family, we are further expanding our range in stainless steel. A timeless design, generous volume and a range of useful details immediately catch the eye. Classimo is available in different versions for common cabinet sizes. In addition, the models are reversible so there is a solution for every customer need."

Also presented their novelties at Gut Böckel: Miele, Bauknecht, KitchenAid, Beko, Grundig, Smeg and Warendorf.

Annual High Mass

Küchenmeile A30, that's an annual recurring celebration for all those interested in kitchens. The dates for the next edition are already known. Those who do not want to miss the kitchen paradise in September 2020, mark September 19 to 25 in bold in their calendar. The protagonists and locations are the same. The result is bound to be another wealth of novelty and inspiration.
