Presenter and sidekick not at the kitchen table, but at the microphone!
In mid-April, the first recordings took place in the professional podcast studio of Louwers Mediagroep in Weert. And at the moment you are holding this Keukenbouw in your hands, the first shows are already online. We are talking about the recent launch of Keukencast, the podcast for the trade professional in the kitchen industry. Presenting the show is Jerry Helmers. The critical triggers and surprising depth come from experienced kitchen expert Maarten Zegstroo.
And the guests? Those obviously vary from show to show. From outspoken professionals at manufacturers of kitchen appliances to trend watchers, sustainability specialists and inspiring suppliers of sheet metal. And everything in between. Who gets to listen? "The entire kitchen industry, of course!" says project manager Folkert van der Werf, who immediately explains that he was actually able to "fill" the first recording day with interesting guests in "no time. "Of course, in such an early stage you have to tell everyone you want to invite well what it's all about. But if I'm completely honest: I immediately tasted enthusiasm everywhere. Logical. There is a lot to tell. And ... to discuss!" Because, according to Folkert, it will definitely not be a podcast series where everyone always agrees with each other "nice and easy". "Indeed: it is absolutely inspiring to put different visions of the kitchen industry side by side."
Folkert is convinced that this will succeed also because of the always stimulating and experienced podcast presenter Jerry Helmers, who hosts the podcast show. "But the dynamics are definitely also brought in by kitchen expert Maarten Zegstroo who joins the microphone as a sidekick every time. Not only will he - together with the guest or guests - provide the necessary depth but we also eagerly await 'Maarten's Minute' each time. This is his own spoken kitchen column. I don't know what he's going to say in that minute. And host Jerry Helmers doesn't know either. So we, like the listeners, let ourselves be surprised in Kitchencast."
When Folkert is asked how the podcast show will have developed a year from now, he is immediately clear. "We are only at the beginning. All the technology in our own studio is in tip-top order, but based on the reactions from the market we will undoubtedly adjust and improve the format. But when I look at the first feedback I immediately conclude that we are on the right track. The first episodes have everything we hoped for. I am very happy with that and I also see that this way of creating content is a great novelty for the kitchen industry.
The first episode is now on Spotify, with the rest to follow soon. In episode 1 you will hear Martin Jansen from MiMa - Beautiful In Customization about cooperation in the industry, the labor market challenges in the kitchen industry and the - according to him - much desired innovation in the industry. Episode 2 featured Simon Rombouts, director/owner of Chainable who have launched a unique sustainability concept for the project market. Jos Creemesr of Crejos closed on the first day of recording with his vision of Japandi. Is it here to stay? You'll hear it in episode 3.
