Striking expansion of refrigerated and freezer drawers

Huge launch with 13 French Door models

During Küchenmeile 2025, there was plenty to discover at Liebherr's Architekturwerkstatt in Löhne. We took a look at the presentation by the German manufacturer, which has been synonymous with quality in refrigeration and freezer appliances for many years. A true specialist. Once again this year, there were smart solutions for compact spaces, stylish designs that can be easily integrated into modern kitchens, and above all: a focus on the user.

One of the biggest eye-catchers was the new under-counter refrigerator: two spacious drawers that can be set to different temperatures independently of each other. Ideal for those who want to keep an overview, and also particularly user-friendly for wheelchair users—everything remains within easy reach.

The drawers feel sturdy and smooth at the same time, with that typical German precision. And the great thing is: in addition to this cooler, they now also have an under-counter freezer with a drawer. During our tour, marketing manager Bart Kraan enthusiastically explained: “The under-counter cooler with a single drawer has had many enthusiastic fans for years. And with these additions, we are offering kitchen designers even more possibilities. Ideal for compact, flexible cooling solutions. These drawers are the perfect answer.”

We also saw a number of other smart additions: a wine cooler that you can customize to your own taste and even an under-counter drinks refrigerator. For lovers of outdoor cooking, there are splash-proof outdoor refrigerators that can withstand temperatures down to -10 degrees, making them perfect for Dutch winters.

Huge introduction

Another highlight was the introduction of the new French Door models. Liebherr has clearly devoted a great deal of attention to this, as evidenced by the no fewer than 13 models that are available immediately upon introduction. Liebherr is known for offering a wide range of choices. This also applies to the French Door fridge-freezer combinations. With or without an ice cube maker, in different finishes, and even with four doors. It's all possible.

“We believe there is a need for an American refrigerator made in Germany,” said Kraan. “We are one of the last to enter this segment, but we consciously choose quality over speed. Only when a product meets our own standards do we bring it to market.”

French Doors stand out thanks to their stylish materials, smart layout, and subtle mood lighting. The combination of ease of use and appearance makes them a logical choice for modern kitchens where form and function reinforce each other.

Smarter and more economical

Amidst all the design highlights, there was also a focus on sustainability. Among other things, the manufacturer presented a completely new built-in fridge-freezer combination with the best energy label—a first that shows that economy and luxury can go hand in hand.

What the presentation showed above all is that innovation is not always about big or complex things. Sometimes innovation is found in the small details: a drawer that closes smoothly, a refrigerator that fits in any situation, or lighting that sets the mood. The whole thing exuded precision, craftsmanship, and a healthy dose of enjoyment in technology—exactly what you hope to see during Küchenmeile.
