The best possible energy efficiency rating is an important criterion for many consumers when making purchasing decisions, especially when it comes to home appliances. High energy prices are the driving force behind this buying behavior. Liebherr meets the requirements with innovative developments and two freezers in energy efficiency class B.
Rising energy prices and greater awareness of sustainability are defining discussions among consumers - also when it comes to product selection for household appliances. As a cooling and freezing specialist, Liebherr-Hausgeräte repeatedly sets the standard for energy efficiency and sustainability with progressive and revolutionary developments. Two insulation technologies exemplify this: conventional insulation with high-quality Silica vacuum insulation panels and the new BluRoX technology with a vacuum combined with finely ground lava rock, the so-called perlite. Based on these two technologies, Liebherr is currently the only manufacturer to offer two freezers in the currently highest energy efficiency class for this segment, B.
Both technologies show stable long-term insulation performance. Both methods maintain their insulating properties at a high level for many years. For consumers, this means that power consumption remains low for virtually the entire lifetime.

Conventional insulation consists of polyurethane foam into which Silica vacuum insulation panels are integrated. This technology improves the insulation effect by up to a factor of six compared to pure insulation with polyurethane foam. The absolute best energy performance with conventional insulation delivers Prime series freezer FNb 4655. The FNb 4655 with a height of 145 cm is equipped with NoFrost, offers five drawers with integrated guides, EasyTwist Ice, SpaceBox, Lever Handle, FrostProtect, LED lighting and many other features.
The revolutionary BluRoX technology developed by Liebherr-Hausgeräte uses a pure full vacuum body with the carrier material perlite instead of insulating foam. Perlite, a finely ground lava rock, has very low thermal conductivity due to its crystalline microstructure. With a unit fully equipped with vacuum perlite technology, the result is about 25 percent more capacity compared to refrigerators and freezers with the same outside dimensions. In addition, the raw material perlite is available in virtually unlimited quantities. Compared to the production of conventional insulation materials from petroleum-based polyurethane, the entire process from extraction of the lava rock to its use as an insulation material requires fewer resources. Perlite can be removed at the end of the life of a BluRoX refrigerator or freezer and reused without significant reprocessing. In addition, because the BluRoX insulation is not glued to surrounding components, the outer shell and inner container can be easily recycled and reused. The first model with the patented BluRoX technology is the FNb 5056: In this first BluRox appliance, the door is made with BluRoX, while the walls of the hybrid model are still insulated with conventional foam insulation with vacuum panels. Comprehensive features such as NoFrost, EasyOpen and EasyTwist Ice are part of the equipment.
The FNb 5056 with BluRoX technology is expected in early 2024. The FNb 4655 Prime is available immediately and has a suggested retail price of €1,499.
