Introduction of a new boiling water tap and accompanying boiler at Dekker Zevenhuizen

In recent years, the sink unit has evolved from ‘merely’ a functional workspace to a fully-fledged component of kitchen design. Whereas practical performance was once the primary focus, today what matters is how a faucet fits into the overall look of the kitchen. With the new boiling water faucet from Selsiuz and its accompanying boiler, Dekker Zevenhuizen is explicitly focusing on precisely that intersection of comfort, safety, ease of installation, and aesthetics. The launch, incidentally, is aimed not only at the end user but also at the professional who wants to make a difference in the showroom and at the design table.

The new model—the Selsiuz Click—features a control system that activates boiling water in the faucet with a double-click of the button. Holding the button down longer switches to the pot-filling mode. In addition, thanks to a Safe Touch feature, the spout remains cool on the outside, and there is a separate lever for hot and cold tap water. These are details that make a big difference in practice: they make the tap intuitive to use and help increase safety in daily kitchen routines.

Water heater

Just as important for specialty retailers is what happens beneath the countertop. The faucet is paired with a new water heater featuring a titanium tank. Titanium was chosen for its durability, corrosion resistance, and neutral effect on the taste of the water. Installation is also given special attention, including through push-to-fit connectors that facilitate smooth installation in the kitchen cabinet. It is precisely this combination of product performance and ease of installation that makes a launch like this commercially attractive to the professional market.

“We’re seeing that consumers no longer want to compromise between design and everyday convenience,” says Ben van Elk, Marketing Director at Dekker Zevenhuizen. “With this launch, we are explicitly bringing those two worlds together. For the user, it’s all about immediate comfort and safe operation; for the kitchen specialist, it’s also about a solution that makes sense in terms of advice, presentation, and installation.”

Patinated Brass

In terms of design, the Patinated Brass finish really stands out. “That warm, elegant hue lies somewhere between gold and stainless steel and fits well with current interior design trends, including the Japandi style, aligning with Dekker Zevenhuizen’s Industrial Force trend, with its combination of tranquility, wood, marble, and refined material contrasts. Just like the other four colors—Gold, Copper, Gun Metal, Inox, and Sturdy Black—the color is applied using PVD, a technique that creates a strong, scratch-resistant top layer that does not oxidize. This gives the color not only aesthetic but also functional value in the sales pitch.”

“With Patinated Brass, we’re offering the market a distinctive finish that really gives designers and kitchen specialty stores that extra something,” says Van Elk. “The color adds warmth, pairs well with a wide range of styles, and enhances the premium look of the sink unit. That makes it appealing to consumers who are increasingly viewing their kitchens as interior design projects.”

Let’s be clear: for the kitchen industry, the launch of the Selsiuz Click presents a major opportunity. “Anyone who can capture comfort, style, and technical reliability in a single product narrative suddenly has much more to offer on the sink side than just a faucet. How great is it to then tell that story to the consumer in the kitchen specialty store’s showroom?” Van Elk concludes.
