The kitchen faucet does more than just provide water

The kitchen is the heart of every home. And what would that heart of the home be without the kitchen faucet? Just like with all other kitchen appliances, the way we view the kitchen faucet has changed in recent years. Of course, its functional use is very important. But the faucet’s design is just as important. The total package must seamlessly align with what the user wants.

The kitchen faucet is perhaps the most important source of water in a home. Since the kitchen has become a gathering place for the whole family, it is also where most of the interaction takes place. The kitchen faucet is the starting point for many activities that require water. It is, therefore, an essential tool, a source of comfort and efficiency. Faucet manufacturers are innovating extensively so that the kitchen faucet can perform these additional tasks in the most user-friendly way possible. Nor do they lose sight of the faucet’s appearance.

The right look for every kitchen

The finish of the faucet is very important. After all, it takes the entire kitchen design to the next level. Black remains a popular color in the kitchen—and therefore for kitchen faucets as well. Black works well in dark kitchens, in lighter kitchens, and even in kitchens where wood is the dominant material. Of course, black isn’t the only finish that works well. Depending on the kitchen style, materials used, and colors, copper, chrome, and white are also popular. Gold finds its place in specific settings. Want a truly personalized kitchen with a custom color? Ask kitchen faucet manufacturers about the possibilities.

Hot, cold, and…

While a traditional kitchen faucet is enough for most consumers (i.e., one that provides hot and cold water), others are looking for more. In this case, “more” means, in addition to cold and hot, boiling water. And sparkling. And filtered. A single kitchen faucet—which you need in the kitchen anyway—saves you a lot of time and energy. When you go grocery shopping, you won’t need any more (plastic) bottles of water because the faucet takes care of that. That plastic won’t end up in the landfill or the recycling bin, and your back will thank you because you won’t have to lug heavy packs around anymore. Sustainability as an added bonus when selling a kitchen faucet.

Smarter and smarter

Kitchen faucets that also dispense boiling water naturally pose a danger to users, especially to children’s hands. Fortunately, technology in kitchen faucet manufacturing is constantly evolving. Temperature safety features, preset heat levels, and child locks—all of these are handy tools for families with (adventurous) children. Smarter also means that kitchen faucets use water more efficiently. Controlling the flow rate, setting a delay time, an eco mode… Significant water savings are within reach. A kitchen faucet with a smart home system? Controlling the water flow with a voice command? It’s really no longer science fiction!
