Yet more than one-third of sales today are already with recirculation, as energy-efficient homes with ventilation systems call for recirculating fume hoods. At Novy, they believe hard in this innovative no-exhaust technology. Pure recirculation is based on a unique carbon filter that ensures that 95 to 100 percent of the most persistent cooking odors are neutralized. The purified cooking vapors are blown back into the room. This filter only needs to be replaced after 900 cooking hours (3 to 5 years). By combining it with a ventilation system, moist air is also automatically removed.

One thing is clear: a fume hood is a necessary appliance in the kitchen, providing efficient removal of odors and moisture. Novy has been a specialist in the development and production of cooker hoods for many years and has since introduced a wide range of systems to the market: cooker hoods and hobs with or without extraction. "We have the ideal cooker hood for every type of kitchen: ceiling, built-in and undermount, island and wall hoods, as well as cooktops with integrated extraction," says director of marketing Olivier Lambert. "Due to increasing market demand, in recent years we have invested heavily in the development of recirculation systems. With our new 'Pure' campaign, we want to answer several customer questions. Does recirculation effectively take away cooking odors? How easy is it to maintain? And what other advantages does such a system have?"
With Pure technology, cooking vapors are purified and blown back into the room. This innovative technology combines the strong extraction power of Novy cooker hoods with a highly efficient grease and carbon filter as the secret ingredient. Activated carbon spheres on a load-bearing labyrinth structure form the basis of the latest Pure filter. As a result, that filter absorbs all odors and even the strongest odors, such as those from fish, are neutralized 95 to 100 percent. Thanks to a special natural coating, the filter lasts up to 900 cooking hours, which means that, depending on the intensity of use, it only needs to be changed every

Thanks to full heat recovery, there are also significant savings in energy consumption. "It used to be common to see a hole with a grille on the side of a home. With traditional vapor hoods, a pipe drains odors and moisture to the outside. That makes the installation more complex and you inevitably end up with heat loss in the house or apartment. Since in new construction and renovations we strive to build as airtight as possible, any crack, gap or opening is out of the question," adds the marketing director. "A recirculation system without exhaust brings the solution and ensures a pleasant and healthy indoor climate without heat loss. However, the recirculating fume hood must be combined with a ventilation system that allows the exhaust of humid
air controls."
This Pure recirculation is integrated as standard in some hood models, but the carbon filter can actually be combined with any type of Novy hood. "The recirculation box is neatly integrated into the ceiling or a cabinet, and with worktop extraction, the box is in the skirting board. These recirculation systems are perfectly applicable in any kitchen setup, especially in kitchens with a kitchen island or in apartment buildings, where it is often not possible to exhaust to the outside," concludes Olivier Lambert.
