Last Thursday evening, June 23, Ron van den Berg, CCO, and Sjoerd Gombert, Coordinator of Quality and Environment, received the incentive award, the Green Pluim, on behalf of DKG Group during the entrepreneurial gala in Bergen op Zoom. DKG Group received this award for its activities regarding corporate social responsibility. DKG has defined CSR as one of the organization's strategic spearheads in recent years. In this way they focus on achieving the right balance between People, Planet and Profit. Among other things, this has led to the CO2-neutral production process. In addition, the circular kitchen process is in full development so that the carbon footprint becomes even smaller.
Since April 2017, the kitchens at DKG have already been produced carbon neutrally. We have been able to reduce CO2 emissions on our own by, for example, generating electricity through solar panels, converting waste into energy and sustainable transport. In addition, DKG offsets the remaining CO2 emissions by investing in sustainability projects such as Carbon Farming through ZLTO, Trees For All and the Climate Neutral Group.
The Groene Pluim is an incentive award (token of recognition and appreciation), presented on a frequent basis in the Netherlands. The purpose of the Groene Pluim is to positively recognize organizations with their efforts in the field of sustainable business. This creates a network of frontrunner companies that inspire other member companies to adopt sustainable business practices.
