The kitchen as a place of silence in a noisy world. Therefore: Japandi.

"What is left if you leave out everything that is not essential?" Jos Creemers has been asking himself that question for years, both as an entrepreneur and a designer. As director of Crejos in Weert, he develops kitchens that are not only beautiful, but also make sense. His specialization? Custom kitchens that bring peace to the user's life. That sounds almost philosophical - and perhaps it is.

Jos Creemers started Crejos Keukens en Interieur in Weert in 2008 and has since grown into a sizeable company. Because kitchens are seen as a piece of furniture and an extension of the living room, the employees are qualified furniture makers. The company is also a recognized training company and professionals are trained there.

In the world of kitchen design, the Japandi style is now no longer a fleeting trend. "Japandi has become a lifestyle," Creemers states. "It combines Japanese simplicity and Scandinavian warmth. Wood, stone, soft colors, everything exudes tranquility. And that is exactly what people are looking for in these overstimulated times."

2024: Japandi at the top. And in 2030?

According to Creemers, the Japandi style will still be current in 2030, but will have evolved. "The basics will remain: natural materials, minimalism, functionality. But we are going to see more subtle color accents, such as terracotta or soft shades of blue. Technology will be seamlessly integrated into the design, with no visible gadgets or knobs. Think countertops that incorporate induction and weighing functions, but look like pure natural stone."

Customization will also play an even greater role, he says. "Mass production is giving way to personalized design. People want kitchens that match their life rhythms and values. Sustainability, craft and sense of purpose are central to this."

Shaping silence

Creemers knows what he's talking about. For years he and his team in Weert have been working on kitchens that bring peace to the life of the user. Crejos delivers customization - not only in form, but also in feel. "Our clients come not just for a kitchen, but for a place of balance. We create spaces in which you can breathe."

Crejos is not your average kitchen company. From initial design to final finish, the team stands for personalized guidance and thoughtful choices. "We choose honest materials that age with character. No shiny trendiness, but solidity and beauty in simplicity."

Advice to the kitchen specialist

What should kitchen specialty stores do now to be ready for the customer of 2030? "Make sure you have at least one Japandi-style kitchen in your showroom," advises Creemers. "Not as a show model, but as an experience. Create atmosphere with smell, sound and light. Let customers experience what tranquility is. And tell the story behind the design." He also sees opportunities on the digital front: "Use social media, but also engage influencers who fit this lifestyle. Show that your brand not only sells products, but also represents values."

The kitchen of the future: calmness with character

We all know it: the world is becoming faster and more digital, and precisely because of this, the kitchen is acquiring a new role: that of delay and connection. A place where aesthetics and ethics come together. Where technology is subservient to everyday life, not dominant. And where style does not shout, but whispers. Creemers sums it up powerfully: "The kitchen of 2030 is not a place of boasting, but of relaxation. It is the silence in your home that your head needs."
