International dynamics and the future of cuisine
The international design and kitchen world is gearing up for another edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano. In total, more than 1,900 exhibitors from 32 countries will put their best foot forward to warmly welcome visitors from all over the world. The kitchen industry is looking forward to a new EuroCucina that, together with FTK - Technology For the Kitchen, gathers the latest insights around technology, sustainability and user experience.

Today's kitchen continues to evolve into an integrated living space where smart systems, AI-controlled appliances and circular materials are central. Technology is becoming more discreet, personalized and energy efficient. Just think of invisible induction, interactive countertops, refrigerators that recognize food and ovens that adjust automatically. At the same time, the status of the kitchen in the home remains intact as the social and cultural centerpiece of the home. There, emotion, identity, well-being and functional design merge into one strong whole. It is precisely this combination that sets the direction in which the international kitchen market continues to evolve, an evolution that will undoubtedly take shape on the stands of the 106 brands from 17 countries exhibiting at EuroCucina and FTK - Technology For the Kitchen.

Rho Fiera, the fair complex near Milan (I), is completely sold out. As usual, the fair's impact also extends throughout the city during the world-famous Milan Design Week. More than 200 showrooms open their doors. Manufacturers, designers and retailers meet at the fair as well as in the city. This interwovenness between fair and city strengthens the international appeal and thus stimulates the (urban) economy. Despite geopolitical uncertainties and an industry in somewhat troubled waters, the resilience of that same kitchen industry is re-emerging. The focus is shifting from individual products to integrated solutions, services and sustainable systems. Many kitchen manufacturers have already picked up on this and are thus getting ready to fully seize the new opportunities arising within hospitality, the residential market and also the project market.

It will undoubtedly be an interesting week for the Dutch kitchen professional as well. EuroCucina 2026 gives a clear view of the future: innovation in technology and materials, the importance of experience in design and a very cautiously positive economic perspective. Add to that the many (international) contacts and you'll understand why the biennial EuroCucina is a must-visit for anyone who wants to understand and help determine the future of the kitchen market. Make sure to mark April 21-26 in your calendar and travel to Milan. With any luck, the sun will be there, too.
