A lot of positivity. Lots of hustle and bustle. Lots of novelties. These are just a few observations about AEG's traditional Dealer Show that took place in January. After two years of corona-lockdowns, the doors could open again. With the theme "Welcome," visitors were introduced to innovations in the areas of Taste, Care and Wellbeing. Marsha Vis, responsible for marketing and communications, is pleased. "We were able to tell our story well!"

"Our focus is on design combined with sustainable solutions, which contribute to a better consumer experience as well as a better environment. For example, we were able to tell visitors about our production and design processes in sustainable factories as well as that equipment is set up for structurally lower energy consumption. The reuse of recyclable materials is then naturally also a topic we discuss."
Marsha: "New innovations can be found in practically all product categories. For example, the range of cooktops with integrated extraction has been expanded. Many ovens have a new interface and the popular 'Mattblack design' is reflected in the oven range for the replacement market. Not to mention the even wider range of range hoods as well as the new fridge-freezer combinations. The new range puts food and the planet first. Also, the goal remains to reduce food waste in the kitchen with 20%."

According to Marsha, it is important to make it easy for the consumer during the cooking process. "Following on from the ovens with shuttle button controls, the 8 series ovens with TFT touchscreen also feature the EXCite+ user interface. Within the color display, the various menus can be navigated effortlessly. Temperature and time can be adjusted thanks to the touchscreen with swipe capability and the most important information
is highlighted."
Speaking of convenience, in just one swipe or click, an oven from AEG is also easy to use remotely. "What I'm personally excited about is the My AEG Kitchen App, which gives you personalized help with cooking. Preparing a healthy meal is never a complicated challenge again. Super convenient for families with children, where the busyness of the day prevails but where 'healthy eating' is still sometimes the neglected child."

It wasn't just watching during the Dealer Show. It was also tasting during the cooking demonstrations!
Marsha explains that there has also been a lot of talk about the AEG plant in Cerreto, Italy. "There, the gas tap was turned off in October," she says. "There is only production with sustainable renewable energy. After all, 'Practice What You Preach' also applies to us. Because, if we want to convince consumers to become more sustainable, we have to set a good example ourselves."
That black is the trend in the kitchen world will be familiar to trade professionals. "However, that does not mean that we forget about other colors. For example, we respond well to the demand for different-colored hoods. Since ceilings are usually white, the new ceiling hoods in RAL 9003 could therefore not be missing. Even if the desire is to have the extractor hood elegantly disappear into a low kitchen cabinet, there is now one with a ceiling hood with only 21 cm installation height."
Satisfaction prevails among Marsha and her colleagues. "It was an excellent start to 2023. Our colleagues are now fully on-the-road to continue the conversations and discuss how we can support kitchen retailers in their sales to consumers."
