Making strides thanks to 3D drawing program

PaletteCAD is a name familiar to almost every interior designer. The 3D drawing program helps professionals design better and faster. This is not just the company's story, but the experience of users who have worked with the software for years.

Users talk about interior design software

In 2013, Van Diessen Keukens from Veldhoven came across PaletteCAD at a trade show.
Steven Michielse: "My colleague introduced it to us. Before that, we did everything in the factory by hand, such as making frames or drawing them out. For designing kitchens we were already working with a drawing program, but there was no link to the machines in the factory."

Production nearly doubled

When Van Diessen started working with PaletteCAD, it meant a big step in automating its operations. "In the program we draw the kitchens, we use it for sales and in addition the software sends the data to the machines." This allowed the kitchen manufacturer to grow significantly. "Before, we were making about 12 kitchens a week. That was kind of the maximum we could produce. Thanks to PaletteCAD, we can now do much more in our factory with limited dimensions, because the thinking and control is done from the office. The production process is much faster. We currently make an average of 23 kitchens per week, almost double that. So we are very satisfied."

Michielse continues. "To use PaletteCAD optimally, a good catalog is important. We spent a lot of time on this. This saves a lot of errors because no more measuring by hand. By now, 12 draftsmen and three salespeople are working with the software. They work in two phases, the sales phase and control." In the PaletteCAD catalog, standard cabinets can easily be stored, to be used again and again. "The special and custom work we do takes a little more time, but in PaletteCAD it is easy to adjust sizes. So PaletteCAD is really a keeper for us, which we've set up our business around."

From production to in-house design department

Verdam Interieurmakers, part of CLLTV, specializes in exclusive designs and custom interiors. Owner Ron Walenberg: "We have been working with PaletteCAD for seven or eight years. In the last two years, more and more users have joined us because we now also have our own design department. We used to work a lot for project developers and contractors; we did custom work and had to travel a lot. From the need to work more in our own region, we started our own design department, made possible in part by PaletteCAD."

The company has grown considerably in recent years. "By now eight people are drawing every day. We are 100% happy with PaletteCAD, also because of the beautiful renders the software program creates. We don't have a showroom, but we all sell our designs with our renders. They are lifelike and also allow you to move through the space." Walenberg continues: "Scholars often have to get used to the different way of drawing in PaletteCAD, but learn it quickly. To make it easier for you, it is important to keep filling the library. I regularly take my time for this, but you win that time back through the efficiency of the program."
