Italy event: great promotional moment for Italian ovens, wine climate cabinets and refrigerators 

A good conversation with the consumer

At the beginning of June it was a true La Dolce Vita at Kasteel de Haar, near Utrecht. Every visitor could taste, discover and experience Italy during the amazing three-day event. Of course it was a great prelude to the summer vacations but it was obviously also a great opportunity for the business community to promote their own Italian products. It was only logical that SMEG was there. "It was fantastic to get consumers excited about ... La Dolce Vita," says Anna-Lena Schotzki, Brand and Trade Marketing Specialist at SMEG Netherlands.

Anna-Lena says SMEG had turned out well. "Look, when you think of Italy, you naturally think of wine. That's why we did a good job of highlighting our wine climate cabinets. So we had an undercounter model on the stand but also a 45 cm built-in model with a sommelier drawer underneath. The 60 cm model was also on display. We had these on display in the new color Linea Neptune Grey."

Ovens

But of course, La Dolce Vita does not only consist of wine and the accompanying wine climate cabinets, which have been on the rise in recent years in the Netherlands. After all, "the delicious life" is also about good food. "That's why we launched the
Galileo ovens well highlighted. What we noticed in the reactions of consumers, who visited our booth? Well, there was enthusiasm for the many combination possibilities. And, in addition, everyone concluded that the SMEG ovens are simply gems for the kitchen. Logical: after all, the eye wants something too!"

Among the ovens featured were the Omnichef, ovens that combine steam, microwave and traditional oven functions in one unit. "We also paid attention to the multitech function, in which all three oven functions are used simultaneously. In other words: all-in-one for a sublime final result and a lot of time saved in preparing the meals. The various combinations of the three oven functions make the Omnichef actually a 7-in-1 oven. The technology stands for nothing else because, of course, professional algorithms are embedded to make things as easy as possible for the user."

Anna-Lena further touches on the Steam 100 pro (steam and traditional oven functions, up to 100% steam, of course professional algorithms here as well, the Fill & Hide automatic water filling system and a 2-liter water tank) and the Speedwave XL (microwave and traditional oven functions, stirrer technology, inverter technology, a net capacity of 68 liters and up to 40% time-saving).

Refrigerators

Needless to say, a kitchen is not complete without a beautiful SMEG refrigerator. "Thus, we had the new FAB retro refrigerators on display from the Matte Color Collection," says Anna-Lena. "This is included in our range in the colors Perfectly Pale, Rust, Light Blue and Matte Black."

For Anna-Lena and her colleagues, it was inspiring to exchange views with consumers. "In our daily work, we are always in contact with the kitchen retailers of the Netherlands. We regularly hear from them what motivates consumers and what their needs are. But if the opportunity is there - for ourselves - to also exchange thoughts with the end users, we do so. This event was ideal for that. The nice by-product? We put the SMEG brand further on the map. Undoubtedly there are consumers who, the next time they step into a kitchen specialty store, will ask about ... SMEG. Well, we couldn't wish for better!"
