Safe air conduction with COMPAIR®: protection against damage caused by moisture and mold in cooktop extractors

Cooktop extractors and downdraft systems offer new freedoms in kitchen planning. They integrate the extractor hood directly into the cooktop and enable open room concepts without disturbing noises from an extractor hood. But the technology harbors risks if the resulting cooking vapor is not routed consistently and in a controlled manner. Naber, a system supplier for kitchen accessories, is therefore focusing on professional air guidance - and with its COMPAIR® systems available in practice-proven solutions for ducted return air and ventilation concepts.

Unguided ventilation as a liability risk

If the cooking vapor produced during cooking - a mixture of moisture, grease and dust particles - is only conducted into or under the furniture carcase, there is a risk of condensate precipitation on surrounding surfaces. The consequences can range from swollen cabinet elements, damp walls and damaged floor coverings to stubborn accumulations of grease and health-damaging mold. For kitchen studios and planners, this means not only dissatisfied customers, but in case of doubt also legal disputes and high repair costs. A technically perfect solution therefore always requires closed air conduction - either into the open air or controlled back into the heated room.

Air extraction: efficient and energy-optimized to the outside

The aerodynamically optimized guide system COMPAIR PRIME flow developed by Naber® reduces air resistance to a minimum, so that the cooking vapor itself is discharged over longer distances and around bends with almost no flow losses. In combination with a suitable heat-insulated wall penetration unit, the vapor is completely conducted out of the building - even at kitchen islands. Thanks to flow-optimized geometries, energy consumption remains controllable, heat losses are reduced to a minimum.

Guided ventilation: cleaned and safely returned

Where building conditions do not permit an exhaust air solution, Naber also offers a technically impeccable alternative for ventilation. Decisively, the cleaned vapor does not remain uncontrolled in the furniture corpus, but through the airtight, closed duct system COMPAIR PRIME flow® is safely routed out of the pedestal area. Here, in addition to the pluggable air duct system, special pedestal solutions and the COMPAIR modular filter box come into play.® GREENflow to address. The latter replaces manufacturer activated carbon filters in cooktop extractors with a high-performance, low-maintenance variant. An omega-shaped filter element increases the active filter area, increases the extracted flow rate at the cooktop extractor fan and extends maintenance intervals. The filter can also be regenerated multiple times, which significantly reduces running operating costs and conserves natural resources. The filter installed in the plinth area leads the cleaned air back into the room in a controlled manner, where residual moisture is removed via the general ventilation in the living area.

Planning security for kitchen professionals

Exhaust air or guided ventilation - controlled air conduction is, in any case, the essential prerequisite for durable kitchen furniture and hygienically flawless room air. With its modular COMPAIR® systems, Naber offers solutions that can be realized in both new and existing planning. For kitchen planners, this means one thing above all: technical safety in a delicate field. Because modern range hood technology does not end at the fan - it starts with well thought-out air routing.
