Lighting in the kitchen can make or break it. Perhaps this statement is a bit exaggerated but it does contain a grain of truth. Lighting is very important and especially in the kitchen. After all, it has become a multipurpose room where several daily tasks are performed (simultaneously). And all of these obviously require appropriate lighting.
Anyone who says kitchen immediately says custom cabinets, sinks, faucets and other kitchen appliances needed to complete the kitchen's most important task of preparing meals. But aren't we also sitting in the kitchen reading a newspaper or a book these days? The children's school work, that is more often done at the kitchen table, isn't it? And the little ones make their umpteenth drawing for mom and/or dad there at the same time. It is therefore quite a task to provide the kitchen with appropriate lighting. Fortunately, there are specialists who lend us a hand. Just think of Hera, the German lighting manufacturer from Enger, which has a solution for every problem with handy lighting modules.
Hera: "Now stop searching endlessly in the dark. Our SIL-LED 2, the fixture that is mounted in a cabinet or drawer cabinet, automatically turns on when the cabinet or drawer is opened. An integrated non-contact sensor switch makes this possible. If the cabinet or drawer is closed again, the light also switches off automatically. And installation is also very simple and quick." SIL-LED 2 is available with color temperature approximately 4000K (neutral white) with good color rendering of CRI >80 and a nice light output of 330 lumens per fixture. The availability of different lengths offers additional flexibility. Also available: a mounting clip that allows lateral mounting in drawers.
Kitchens and living rooms are increasingly merging into one, a trend that is unstoppable. Therefore, several kitchen manufacturers are providing solutions that also come into their own in the living room. "We are jumping on the bandwagon," says Hera. "After all, our lighting solutions are so flexible that they also come into their own in a living room. Just think of shelves. Both in the kitchen (for accessories to even plates and glasses, for example) and in the living room (for the collection of books, for example), a nice illumination of these shelves brings a visual extra. That's why we developed the Back-Line, a great way to illuminate the shelf. The light does not shine in one direction but radiates in three directions." Back-Line is available in black or stainless steel optics and in three lengths: 560 mm (4.5W), 860 mm (7.1W) and 1160 mm (9.7W). The color temperature is always a cozy warm white of about 3000K.
