New kitchen heights and clever details
Today's kitchen has long since ceased to be the place of just cooking. It has become the heart of the home. It is precisely there that aesthetics and functionality blend together beautifully. For kitchen professionals, that means: Keep innovating and being creative. The latest kitchen trends show (thankfully) that there is plenty of room for smart adjustments. Literally and figuratively.
Nolte is one of the world's leading players in the kitchen industry, and this is because they are constantly tapping into their creativity and coming up with new solutions and concepts to feed the kitchen professional. One of Nolte's most recent developments is the Matrix800, a new corpus height of 800 mm. This nestles between the already existing 750 and 900 mm options. Frank Mom of Nolte: "For designers, this means more freedom. This new line allows a completely symmetrical layout of the base cabinet block, which creates a calm and homely look. But just as importantly, no storage space is lost. In combination with interior drawers and pull-outs up to 400 mm high, it becomes not only beautiful, but also very practical. Also for those larger beverage crates, for example."
A trend that continues to grow is the extension of kitchen design into other living spaces. Fronts, colors and also countertops are increasingly used in the living room and utility room. This makes sense because these are normally always adjacent to the kitchen itself. But more and more influences of kitchen design are also seeping into the bathroom. The result is a harmonious whole in which functionality, comfort and aesthetics are perfectly matched. "And we know how to deal with that," Mom adds. "With clever heights, new materials and color combinations, we offer plenty of room for creativity. For the designers as well as for the users."
Even Nolte can't ignore it. Wood is and remains hot. Mom: "The wood look indeed remains undiminished popular. But not just any wood, preferably in a contemporary version. Light wood decors like natural oak are making a comeback in matte variants, for example in the Manhattan front line, and we also see an increasing demand for variants with a refined grain. The combination with, for example, a deep blue surface creates an exciting contrast between warmth and modernity. A tip from our designers: extend the wood decors into a worktop or bar. This creates visual tranquility as well as additional functionality. We are thinking of a compact workstation or a cozy dining area."
What is also in favor: sleek, handle-less kitchens with matte surfaces. A thorny issue here are the fingerprints that sometimes dare to appear on the fronts. Nolte is fully committed to the development of anti-fingerprint fronts, also for the lower price groups. Mom: "This makes the minimalist design with a luxurious look accessible to the entry-level segment as well. The trend color Lava, combined with a seamless color gradient from front to cabinet interior, provides a particularly cohesive overall image in this regard."
