Jetstone managed to almost double its production rates in one fell swoop in the fall of 2023 through expansion. Now they are gradually taking up the new production lines. At the same time, the countertop supplier swears allegiance to Deurne, as the third product location is also within the municipal boundaries of Deurne.
With this, Deurne is and will remain the base of operations for worktop specialist Jetstone. "We have recently moved into a third location there," adds Jetstone's Marketing Coordinator Mark Joosten immediately. "In one fell swoop, 16,000 m² is added, bringing our total production area to 34,000 m². With this doubling we are on the one hand relieving the burden on the two existing locations, which by the way will remain in full operation, and on the other hand we are ready to accommodate future growth. What once began in an old pigsty in Deurne has today grown into a sustainable cooperation partner in worktops with some 350 employees."
At first glance, it seems like a bold decision Jetstone is making in late 2021. During the corona period prevailing worldwide, the worktop specialist decides to proceed with the purchase of a piece of building land and the expansion of its facilities by as much as 16,000 m². "We want to do this to further shape our international growth," Jetstone announced at the time in their initial press release. "The building will be at an attractive high-visibility location on the As in Deurne." Pepers Architecten was immediately commissioned to turn it into an attractive building as well, with which the branch will define Deurne's skyline. Mark: "We never rush things at Jetstone. So the decision to build a new production site is also one that was well thought out.
Thus, despite the corona pandemic, we went ahead with our plans."
When presenting the plans, Jetstone made it clear right away that it was fully opting for a sustainable building without a gas connection and with solar panels on the roof to power the production lines and offices. "And we implemented that," Joosten tells us during the tour. "We also developed a sustainable solution for water use. Of all the water we use, only 2% is lost, and this comes from evaporation. The remaining 98% is filtered and reused." The first production line was commissioned in the fall of 2023, almost on schedule. In the coming months, Jetstone will build subsequent production lines to gradually reach full capacity. "Such a production line is always customized," Joosten explains. "We will work with the machine builders to draw the production line the way we want it. There, too, we take a step-by-step approach in order to complete the process flawlessly. With offices and the Jetstone Academy as well, this new place will soon be bustling with activity."
