The kitchen becomes your home's onboard computer
Satisfaction prevails at Samsung, looking back at the Küchenmeile. Even Maxime Parein, responsible for marketing the Home Appliance Division at Samsung, can only draw one conclusion. "It was very busy. We received nice delegations from Dutch and Belgian retail. Moreover, it was great to also just have the 'old-fashioned' trade show feeling again without corona threats and restrictions. You could tell by the mood. And what was also nice: we have everything we showed at the Küchenmeile in stock. Are you ready to order?"
Samsung presented itself at two locations, namely Area30 and Art of Kitchens. "Over the past few months, we have mainly been telling the media and socials about what was coming up, but now the time had come: our guys and gals from the sales team are already fully on-the-road in the meantime to give a concrete follow-up to the good talks from the fair."
In addition, Maxime noticed that the story around "connectivity" caught on. "You can start to think of the kitchen as the 'on-board computer of your home,'" he says. "The ultimate personalization, set in motion by smart technology, optimizes the use of the kitchen. All appliances and equipment can be tailored individually, to each other and to the user's needs and behaviors. The end result is much more than just some convenience. Because, we are also talking about energy efficiency here. The Smart Things App is leading us to a more sustainable world. But in addition to that, people are now much more capable of really eating healthier too. Samsung's kitchen appliances help with that. From advice to an overview of the ingredients needed for a healthy meal. In short, people are going to experience all these 'technological dings' in their quality of life."
Maxime makes it concrete with an example. "Consider our Dual Cook Flex. This is an oven in two parts. You can prepare food on two different levels. For example, a cake for dessert afterwards at the same time as the chicken in the oven, without mixing flavors or smells. Need only one part of the oven? Fine, too. But then consider - so if you use that oven on a smaller scale - how much energy you save."
You also see these combination options in Samsung refrigerators. Maxime: "For example, we have these with a freezer compartment that you 'transform' into a refrigerator compartment in the blink of an eye. This allows you to create extra space when you need it. It gives your home hospitality a boost. Having a party? You no longer have to keep the bottles of soda or beer cold on the balcony: in a second, you literally have added cooling space in your built-in combi fridge."
That there is more in the works at Samsung is obvious. "There is much more to come in the coming months, but everything from the past few weeks now feels like a great introduction of our brand to the Dutch market. That tastes like more!"
