Keukens & Zo, run by Siepie Landman and her son Dennis Huijpen, has been a trusted name in the region since 2021. The name says it all: this is more than just kitchens. With more than 20 years of Landman's experience in kitchen land, the decision to start a kitchen business together fell in 2021, in the middle of corona time. Yet Landman and Huijpen saw opportunities in this very period. "We went from idea to opening in just over six months," Huijpen explains. "So a flying start." Landman had been out of the industry for a few years, but it started itching again. Thanks to good contact with Wim Kuijper of KüchenTreff, joining this purchasing organization felt right away. "When Kuijper came in, there was immediately a fine contact," says Landman. "You benefit from joint purchasing, but remain completely independent entrepreneurs. Thanks to our own background in assembly and painting, with advice from KüchenTreff alongside, we were able to do the remodel at lightning speed."

Two worlds that complement each other perfectly

The duo proved to be a golden combination. During a visit to the showroom, Landman shows off her digital drawing skills. "I love to surprise customers with a personal 'touch' in the design," she says. For example, she once designed a kitchen for a customer who painted. "I hung a painting of hers in the drawing in the room. She was really surprised. Things like that make the work SO much fun."

Huijpen complements her with his experience in assembly. "As a result, the line between sales and execution is short. If something is behind schedule, we can switch quickly and save time elsewhere. It gives customers a lot of confidence that we keep everything in our own hands."

Inspiring showroom with an eye for detail

The Keukens & Zo showroom exudes homeliness. There is a cozy seating area where customers can have a quiet chat, and with nine kitchen arrangements there is plenty of inspiration. Customer information is also taken into account: for example, there is a washing machine cabinet from Nobilia in the showroom so that showroom visitors can come into contact with it and know that such a thing exists. In addition to the popular manufacturer Nobilia, Beckermann is an important supplier, especially because of the customization. "We can really go either way with that," Landman said.

Service with a golden edge

Keukens & Zo not only builds kitchens, but also customer relationships. "Some customers now buy their second kitchen from me," Landman says proudly. "When I was still working elsewhere I helped them. Now they come here especially." Huijpen shares another example of their dedication: "A customer once mistook the assembly day and panicked. Postponing wasn't really an option. I sat on the couch with a buddy (and colleague) and we went to that house that same night. We worked through the night so that the client could continue the work the next morning. That client was so surprised and grateful. To me that is the best thing there is."

Word of mouth as key to success

The passion for the profession shines through in both Landman and Huijpen. They agree: it is precisely those personal, unexpected moments that stay with customers. "Word of mouth is the best advertising there is," says Landman. They know how to build this in Lemmer like no other - customer for customer, kitchen for kitchen.
