Experienced...you could call Van Ginkel that. He is no stranger to the kitchen world. After years of holding various managerial positions for brands such as Poggenpohl, Warendorf and Nolte Küchen, Van Ginkel decided to take the step to running his own business. He took over Het KeukenHuys in 2023 and he runs this establishment together with his daughter. After years of traveling and living/working in Germany and around the world, Van Ginkel opted for more inner peace in his life, and it shows in the atmosphere the business exudes.
Upon entering Het KeukenHuys Hoorn, you immediately feel the craftsmanship and attention to detail. Het KeukenHuys clearly focuses on a specific customer segment: the middle and high end. Van Ginkel explains: "Under €20,000 it becomes difficult here, and not because we feel too good for that, but because it's more manageable for visitors." The kitchens presented here are commercially interesting, but of such high quality material that it exudes its value.
What sets Het KeukenHuys apart is the careful selection of suppliers. Van Ginkel works with only a few suppliers. SieMatic is one of them. Het KeukenHuys is therefore exclusive Siematic Boutique which is unique in the Netherlands. The appliances come from Miele and furthermore the boiling water taps come from Quooker and there is also space for Bora and Gaggenau.
Another important aspect of Het KeukenHuys is the process surrounding installation. Van Ginkel employs its own fitters, which ensures consistency and craftsmanship throughout the process. This has resulted in happy customers on several occasions. Van Ginkel shares an example, "A customer once asked if we could finish a few days earlier because they wanted to host a party. By shifting priorities, we got that done. This is the way we like to do business."
The KeukenHuys also offers a lot of attention to its advice to customers. Customers who come by appointment are asked to create a mood board with their wishes. During the second meeting, they receive a 3D drawing that has been hand-drawn with accompanying advice. This makes the process personal and makes the client feel that it is his or her choice.
Van Ginkel is clear in his vision: "One of our biggest USPs is that we are honest with our clients. We are not afraid if one time it is not a match. This ensures that we can continue to work objectively and always give the best advice." This is what many clients appreciate: the transparency and the bond of trust that is built.
In addition to providing kitchens, The KeukenHuys also offers services such as stucco and wall finishes, with Van Ginkel working with established partners who share the same quality standards. Van Ginkel : "With us it's all about what the customer wants. Provided it's possible. If something is not possible, we say so. The customer should feel that we are walking the path for their new kitchen together with them. This way of working, makes entrepreneurship a lot of fun!"
